Wrote this piece for Alternet (1/11/2011) about an international campaign to to draw attention to the terrible phenomenon of "corrective rape" against lesbians in South Africa. This piece, also in Alternet (2/1/2011) explores the challenges that LGBT asylum seekers face in verifying their claims, with a focus on a Ugandan asylum seeker fighting for the right to stay in the UK, after being threatened directly by the country's most notoriously anti-gay politico (author of the "Kill the Gays" bill, David Bahati).
